    Very sweet, thanks.

    On a slightly related note.
It is odd that the women’s NCAA soccer final was decided yesterday and today I can’t find any mention of it on ESPN, Fox, or BR.
OK it was a dreadful game, barely soccer that I recognize, with UNC winning by out subbing and out kicking and running a Penn St team that might actually be able to play football. But still it was a significant sporting event – and nothing.
It was painful to watch a team with Ohai, Dunn, and Greene on it play such painfuly ugly soccer, after watching two of them win the WC.
See if you can fix that will you?
    Cheers from NH.

      I’m torn re:UNC’s style.

I agree with you that it does not exactly elicit the most appealing game to watch.

On the other hand, boy is it effective.

Their high pressure is impressive to watch–they just suffocate teams that want to hold onto the ball. It’s a bit like Barcelona in that they force the opponent to give the ball so quickly, it just lacks the other, more famous, side of Barca’s game in tiki-taka.

It would impossible to do what UNC does without the NCAA’s subbing rules, but it’s hard to fault them for playing by the rules. I also give Dorrance a lot of credit for sticking with a three-back for so long that it has gone from the most popular formation to non-existent back to a revolutionary system.

Ohai’s opener was brilliant too. Can’t wait for her to get her shot with the full national team.
